Baby and Toddler Club

The baby & toddler group meets in the church on Monday and Wednesday mornings from 10.00 – 11.30 am. The group is aimed at local children age 0-4 years together with their mums, dads, grans or whoever looks after them. There’s always a warm welcome at the toddlers and it’s a great place to meet other children, parents and carers who live in North Motherwell.
It’s widely recognised that the first three years of life are the most important and through a secure relationship with a happy adult and by playing and being together,babies and children learn everything. At the toddlers, everyone is encouraged to join in with the play and Jacqueline, Lyndsey and Marie-Clare are on hand to help with the fun and provide a bit of support if needed. There’s lots of time and space for free play and arts & craft activities before snack (fruit, toast, biscuits, juice and of course tea and coffee for big folks). After snack and tidy up, it’s time for ‘aeroplanes’and active games before settling down for a story or singing-time.
We hope that everyone will bring ideas to the toddlers – either for crafts, new songs, play activities or snack ideas and are delighted if parents or careers would like to lead an activity; recently one of our mums organised a fab vegetable printing session which everyone enjoyed.Take a look at our photos to see what we’ve been up to so far this year. Check out the smiles on the kids’ faces (and the big folks’ too).We’ve some exciting things planned for the summer term … let’s get outside so if you fancy a buggy walk, a bear hunt, seed planting, water-play, tent-making or may be looking ‘bugs’ in the garden come along and join us…..wellies advised.
